全英語授課(EMI 課程)
教學目標
This EMI course aims to guide students in developing a macroeconomic perspective and cultivating their critical thinking skills to independently interpret market trends and manage personal finances by examining international financial news articles. Building on this foundation, the course will train students to use Excel or other professional financial technology tools to conduct empirical modeling, transforming abstract observations of relevant economic or financial indicators into concrete financial models. Ultimately, students will learn to cultivate macroeconomic thinking and financial literacy by constructing macroeconomic concepts and professional financial knowledge, and strengthen oral and written English communication skills.
課程要求(含課堂外作業要求)
1. Weekly Financial Review and Oral Reports
Students are required to take turns leading class discussions based on assigned international financial articles or short videos. Each student must provide an analytical summary and share critical insights on the given topics.
2. Data Modeling and Quantitative Analysis
This course emphasizes empirical methods. Students must bring their own laptops to perform data modeling and quantitative analysis during class sessions.
1. Weekly Written Analysis of Financial Articles
Assignment Content: Students must complete an analysis of the international financial articles or videos (such as WSJ, Bloomberg) assigned by the teacher each week. A written report must be submitted the following week, and the teacher will arrange for students to share their analysis orally in class.
2. Weekly Data Modeling Practice
Assignment Content: In conjunction with the in-class practice, students must use the modeling tools to complete the assignment. A written report must be submitted the following week, and the teacher will arrange for students to share their analysis orally in class.
